Discover a Gem at Mario's Café: A Taste of Tradition in the Heart of London

If you're wandering the charming streets of Kentish Town, make sure to stop by Mario's Café, located at 6 Kelly St, London NW1 8PH. This delightful café is not just a place to grab a bite; it's a heartfelt experience that embodies the essence of Italian hospitality. With a warm welcome from Mario himself, it feels like you've stepped into a cozy Italian home rather than a typical eatery.

Mario’s Café serves a rich array of Italian-inspired dishes that delight both the palate and the soul. Customers rave about the chicken pasta, a dish that marries tender chicken with al dente pasta in a harmonious blend of flavors. But don’t miss the decadent truffle pasta topped with creamy burrata—Marta Luis described it as “to die for,” and you'll understand why after your first heavenly bite. And for dessert, indulge in the delightful ricotta tart paired with cherries that Michael Israel enjoyed. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and a pinch of love, making every meal worthy of its own celebration.

The atmosphere at Mario's Café is as inviting as the food. Small and cosy, it boasts an old-world charm that transports you to a simpler, more authentic dining space. The outdoor seating is perfect for those sunny London afternoons, allowing you to enjoy your meal while soaking in the peaceful rhythm of a quiet street. Whether you're dining in with friends or grabbing a quick takeout sandwich or panini, you’ll feel right at home. And for pet owners, the good news is that dogs are welcome, adding to the friendly vibe that makes this café a beloved local haunt.

Customer experiences speak volumes about the café's charm. Reuben Salt describes it as “lovely,” praising not only the food but the authentic ambiance, remarking on its rarity amidst a sea of modern establishments. Meanwhile, Squishband poignantly captures the essence of Mario's as “an institution” and “a good enough mother,” highlighting how it serves as a comforting retreat from the bustling city life.

Open from Wednesday to Saturday, 8 AM to 4 PM, Mario’s Café is the perfect spot for your morning espresso, harmoniously served with a complimentary glass of water—a true Italian touch that Eve Sis found enchanting. Come taste why this hidden gem is creating a faithful following among locals and visitors alike.

Whether you're a Kentish Town resident or just passing through, Mario's Café promises a memorable dining experience, rich in flavors and warmth. So grab your friends, bring along your furry companion, and indulge in the delights that await at this charming café. You'll leave not just satisfied, but with a heart full of joy and a promise to return.

Lovely place, tasty food and an authentic experience. Not many places like this left. Shoutout Mario, and Saint Etienne too!

My lovely friend invited me to Marios Italian Cafe for lunch - We had a ball - The food and atmosphere was just perfect. Mario served us with true love and made me feel very welcome being my first time to this vintage Cafe in Kentish Town . A hidden gem in the area ! I had chicken and Pasta and a delicious Ricotta Tart with Cherrys for pudding x I will definitely be going back to sit with all the other regular customers . Bravo Mario !

Mario’s is an institution. An ancillary eat-in kitchen. A good-enough mother. Shelter from the storm. Mario’s is a place you invent. The group-work you needed. The reward you deserve. Mario’s is friendly, argumentative and comforting. Mario’s is coming home.

Small and cosy venue with a very familiar atmosphere. The outdoor seating in summer is really nice in a quiet street with not a lot of traffic. Plenty of take away sandwiches and panini. We dined in last night and I had an amazing truffle pasta with creamy burrata. Absolutely to die for!! We will definitely repeat! (Dogs are welcome)
